Since this is a tech blog, I thought I'd post about the script I wrote at 2:30 am.
My wife wanted me to time her contractions for her. I started using my phone, but soon decided to write a quick program. I wrote the following program in python to keep track of contractions:
https://github.com/hamiltop/Contraction-Timer
It's a command line utility that works as follows:
Melker:contraction_timer peter$ python timer.py Welcome to Contraction Timer. Any time a contraction either starts or stops, press any key to record it Press any key to start timing first contraction Timing Contraction Contraction was 0 minutes and 31 seconds long Waiting for new contraction to start Time between contractions was 0 minutes and 20 seconds long Timing Contraction Contraction was 1 minutes and 4 seconds long Waiting for new contraction to start Time between contractions was 0 minutes and 5 seconds long Timing Contraction ....
We didn't get to use it for very long, because labor got really intense and we went into the hospital, but I found the fact I decided to write it while my wife was in labor was amusing.
